The United Methodist Conference strategically placed New Covenant in south Edmond as a mission field. By making more fully devoted followers at New Covenant, we are sending out people into our community to share the light of the world, Jesus Christ! By our recent investment in the youth building, "the North End" and our proposed expansion in our children's area, we are pouring into the next generation of missionaries and ambassadors of Jesus Christ to the world!
In 2008, we lost approximately 20,000 square feet of classroom and office space due to fire. As part of the insurance settlement and after renovation of the North End, we have 1.5 million dollars remaining to replace the space we lost. Prior to the fire, the church approved a master plan to expand and renovate the church. The loss of space due to the fire has sped up our need for additional space. Our resources and space are stretched to the maximum. It is time for The Next Step!
We have begun a capital stewardship campaign that will culminate on November 20th with Commitment Sunday and on December 4th we will announce the total amount committed. We have an unshakeable faith in the LORD that our plans will succeed.
You will hear the phrase, "not equal gifts, but equal sacrifice." We understand that we cannot each give the same gift. Someone's total gift may only be several hundred dollars, but their sacrifice will be equal to the sacrifice of the one who is giving thousands of dollars. We know all gifts won't be equal, but pray that all sacrifices will be. Please don't make a hasty decision, but prayerfully consider your gift that includes "equal sacrifice" for the next generation.
We are excited to see how God will work through our faithfulness. We are excited to see what happens with The Next Step!
